Golden Groceries

Three Square’s Golden Groceries program provides delicious, healthy, supplemental groceries to individuals who are 60 and better. Golden Groceries can be found at multiple locations across Southern Nevada. Pantries offering Golden Groceries have special hours and days for seniors to avoid long lines and have a pleasant experience. Golden Groceries is also offered through home delivery, and we need your help!

Help deliver food to seniors

By delivering to seniors once a month, you are connecting them to services they couldn’t get without you. To volunteer with Golden Groceries, you will:

  • Be assigned to a trusted Golden Groceries partner to deliver groceries to seniors’ homes
  • Use your own vehicle to deliver approximately 40 pounds of groceries per senior
  • Complete a background check and Older Adult Protective Training
  • Help seniors avoid long lines
  • Brighten the day of our friends 60 and better in the community

Senior Community Meal

Three Square’s Senior Community Meal program provides a hot, nutritious meal for free to those 60+ and their loved ones. The Senior Community Meal is available five days a week at partner libraries.

Meals are served on Mondays and Thursdays at East Las Vegas Library, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Clark County Library, and Fridays at Whitney Library.

As a volunteer, you will be hands-on during the meal service. Volunteering for this program includes:

  • Serving drinks and meals
  • Wiping down tables
  • Packing up meals to-go

Three Square Center

The Three Square Center helps connect our unconnected neighbors to resources. As a volunteer, you will be working one-on-one with people in the community over the phone to help them with application assistance and resource navigation. Bilingual services are available. Services that our volunteers provide include:

  • Completing and submitting applications for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (or SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) on a client’s behalf
  • Referring clients to Three Square’s Benefits Services Outreach Advocates at sites around the community for assistance with SNAP, EAP (non-emergency energy assistance), Project REACH, Medicare Part D extra savings, and Medicaid
  • Referring clients to outside agencies that can better meet their needs
  • Assessing clients for our Golden Groceries Program

Register

Volunteer as an individual

Create an account by completing the individual application before scheduling a volunteer session.

Each individual must have their own volunteer account in order to volunteer. The minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old.

COMPLETE AN APPLICATION

Volunteers ages 10–15 must have a parent/guardian present. (Sorry, no volunteers under age 10.)

Volunteers ages 16–17 may volunteer on their own by bringing a signed copy of the below waiver with them to their volunteer session. Please note that a signed waiver needs to be turned in at every session.

Offsite Distributions: Our minimum age for this activity is 10. All volunteers ages 10–15 must be accompanied by an adult during the entire volunteer session for safety reasons.

We kindly ask groups who are looking to volunteer that you secure your date as early on as possible. We recommend scheduling 4–8 weeks in advance, as our volunteer activities tend to fill up rapidly
