Every day, Three Square sets out on its mission, “to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community”, alongside a constantly invigorated food network of more than 200 Feeding America affiliates, and in partnership with more than 150 agency partners across Southern Nevada. But that isn’t where the partnership ends.
In pursuit of closing the meal gap in Southern Nevada for more than 274,000 food-insecure people who, on average, miss 5.8 meals per week, we require the support of our public partners too. These partnerships include Clark County, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, and City of North Las Vegas.
Whether it be support through Community Development Block Grants to aid ongoing food distributions, commitment of American Rescue Plan Act funding to purchase food and support the food bank’s ongoing work, funding for holiday proteins for families that would otherwise go without, and so much more, Three Square could not successfully serve our hungry neighbors without the support of our municipal partnerships.
Three Square has been humbled and honored this Hunger Action Month to receive recognition of these ongoing and vital partnerships through proclamations from each of our municipal partners highlighting the ongoing need across Southern Nevada, and the ways in which our public-private partnerships stand at the ready to continue serving, because we know that together, we can feed everyone. We look forward to many years of continued partnership and collaboration with our municipal partners, and continuing to work to eradicate hunger across Southern Nevada.
