Sisters Claire and Charlotte decided to sell lemonade to help feed families during the holiday season. With the help of their family and friends, the two young entrepreneurs have raised nearly $600 for Three Square. Their lemonade sales not only quenched thirst, but also put 1,800 meals back into the community. We interviewed their mother, Lindsey, to learn more about her daughters and what inspired them to help others.
Claire and Charlotte are two of our youngest donors! May we ask how old are they?
Claire is 7 years old and Charlotte is 5 years old
Despite being too young to volunteer at Three Square, it looks like these two found a unique way to contribute their time. Contact us when you two turn 10. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities that you might enjoy.
What motivated them to give back?
(My husband and I) talk to our children a lot about the importance of helping other people. The lemonade stand was an idea that sparked Claire's desire to do something fun and help Three Square in the process.
Good job, mom and dad! You must be proud. It doesn't take much to make a huge impact.
Why did they select Three Square?
Because of their understanding that if you want to help feed people, no one does it better than Three Square!
You're absolutely right! For every dollar, Three Square can provide three meals. Last year, with the help of our dedicated donors, volunteers and community partners, we distributed more than 40 million pounds of grocery product. That is the equivalent of 33 million meals.
When your children aren't being philanthropists, what do they like to do for fun?
They enjoy singing and dancing, playing with their friends and gymnastics.
What an active duo! We are so glad Claire and Charlotte find the time to give back each year. We can't pursue a hunger-free community without help from donors like them. Together, we can feed everyone.
