Providing nutritious meals after school.
Three Square’s Kids Cafe program ensures that children have access to healthy and hand-prepared meals after school, which are served in safe, supportive environments across Southern Nevada.
In partnership with local schools, enrichment programs, and state agencies, these meals are provided through the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Why it matters
Experiencing childhood hunger can lead to:.
- Struggles concentrating and learning.
- Increased risk of behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Higher likelihood of long-term health issues from poor nutrition.
Healthy meals today build stronger futures.
Children between the ages of five and seven who live in food-insecure households are nearly three times as likely to experience stunted growth and development.
